The Sacrament of Baptism
People were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them, and when the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. Jesus, however, called the children to himself and said, "Let the children come to me and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these"...Luke 18:15-16
For Catholics, the Sacrament of Baptism is the first step in a lifelong journey of commitment and discipleship. Whether we are baptized as infants or adults, the Church celebrates new life in Christ through this sacrament.
Attendance at a Baptism Preparation Class is required for parents who want their child baptized. Call for details (279-4654 ext 300). The classes are facilitated by St. Theresa's Baptism Team.
Baptism Preparation Classes:
Children 5 years and older who are not baptized will be prepared for the Sacrament of Baptism.Contact Barb Woods (515-279-4654 x307 or [email protected]).
The celebration of Baptism is scheduled with the pastor or deacon after the preparation is completed.
